Student associations

In recent years, student associations have assumed considerable importance at CTU in Prague, especially as regards international students.

The name International Student Club emerged in 1999, though it took over activities that had been developing since about 1996. ISC is a group of students who have already studied abroad, or who want to study abroad in future, and who aim to offer the richest possible experience to visiting students. The most important activities take place before the beginning of the semester – contacting Erasmus and other visiting students before they arrive in Prague, meeting them on arrival, and helping them to settle in during the Orientation Week. During the semester, ISC is the first point of contact for students with minor problems or requiring help or information. ISC organises excursions, recreational sports events, etc.

iaesteThe International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) is an independent non-governmental organisation with co-operating institutions in 85 countries aiming to provide students in higher education with technical experience and/or to offer employers well-qualified and motivated trainees. The CTU branch is very active. IAESTE’s ikariera web site contains many high-quality job offers for students and graduates, and its annual Jobs Fair is a major event.
